Description

Okeene Public Schools is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to serve as a Kindergarten Teacher beginning with the 2026–2027 school year and beyond. The Kindergarten Teacher will be responsible for creating a structured, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment that supports early academic and social growth.

Responsibilities include planning and delivering instruction aligned to Oklahoma Academic Standards, with a strong emphasis on early literacy, numeracy, and foundational learning skills. The teacher will foster a positive classroom culture, support students’ social and emotional development, and implement effective classroom management strategies.

The Kindergarten Teacher will assess student progress, maintain accurate records, and use data to inform instruction and interventions. The position requires regular communication with parents and guardians regarding student achievement and development. The teacher will collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to ensure all students’ needs are met, including those requiring additional academic or behavioral support.

The Kindergarten Teacher will maintain compliance with all district policies and Oklahoma State Department of Education requirements.

Okeene Public Schools serves approximately 340 students in grades Pre-K – 12.

Required Qualifications Valid Oklahoma Teaching Certificate
Early Childhood or Elementary Education Certification
Preferred Qualifications Experience in early childhood or elementary education preferred but not required
